The city of Lafayette has an approximate population of 67000 per 2010 census and is located about 2/3's of the way between Chicago and Indianapolis.

This area is covered by the Lafayette School Corporation. This school system is made up of one high school, Jeff High School, and several elementary schools. Lafayette has 2 Hospitals, IU Health Arnett, and Franciscan Health Lafayette. The area is also home to a large amount of industry including Caterpillar, Alcoa, Rhea Magnet, Tate and Lyle, Wabash National and many more.
